HYPNOSIS THERAPY FOR INSOMNIA: WHAT IS INSOMNIA? Literally it means the suffering of poor sleep and sleep patterns. Sufferers either have difficulty getting to sleep, disturbed sleep, early-morning-waking syndrome or a combination of all the above. Poor sleep impairs a person's ability to react correctly and appropriately to situations and has a dramatically negative effect on a person's physical health. Insomnia leaves the insomniac tired, anxious and feeling emotionally unstable.
In order to go to sleep, we need to
be in a relaxed state. If someone is constantly worrying about
something, either consciously or subconsciously, or is suffering from depression, this will prevent the natural
process of sleep. People that are suffering from depression will often over-dream,
resulting in total exhaustion the next day. In order to compensate for this, the
body will sometimes wake them up before too much dreaming has taken place, a
problem that is called early-morning-waking syndrome. If someone has suffers disturbed sleep
over a period of time, they can become anxious in advance
about whether or not they will have a good night's sleep, which can lead to
the problem continuing even after the initial cause has disappeared. The
problem of not being able to sleep then becomes a 'habit' Hypnotherapy is an excellent way of dealing with the problem of insomnia. Whilst prescription drugs, sleeping tablets and natural remedies will help in the short term, prolonged use will nullify the effects and greater doses will eventually need to be taken. Hypnosis is very relaxing, allowing sleep to come easier and has no harmful side effects. It also helps a person develop a healthy sleeping pattern. Your subconscious controls your sleep patterns and has a memory for virtually everything you do, and that includes a memory for nice, deep, restful sleep. |
WHAT CLIENTS SAY: "Happily, I’m still sleeping well. What I found most useful was being taught to hypnotise myself. I see the techniques that I have learnt as a future weapon against insomnia" R.S.

"I'm contacting you as
requested to let you know how my insomnia is progressing. I'm
very pleased to report it has almost stopped entirely within the
last three weeks. I have not had to revert to use a sleeping
pill at all, which was a huge improvement for me.
David, thank you so much for
your help, I honestly didn't really believe in it but it has
worked. I will wholeheartedly recommend this form of treatment
to friends if they have similar issues" R.T.
---------------------------------- "I am using the exercises and CD's to relax and switch off and this to me has been a wonderful way to drop off to sleep and I feel that I am sleeping longer, perhaps 2-3 hours and more restful, and although I sometimes have periods of worrying, using the relaxation exercises has helped me enormously." L.C.
